Wentworth is having a very special tournament to help someone in need. We hope you will play some golf for a great cause and help someone who needs all our efforts.
Here’s the story and a message from his aunt, Fran…
Cody O’Neill is my nephew, my brother Skip’s only child. He lives in St. Petersburg, he’s 22 years old and a good kid. Cody was in a motorcycle accident in mid-November and spent considerable time in ICU and the trauma department. He broke both femurs, his pelvis, back, compound fractures of his tibia and fibula and some cracked ribs. His leg was almost severed. Thankfully he was wearing his helmet but still suffered a brain bleed which caused him memory problems and a maturity level of approximately 6 years old.
Cody came home to live with his parents after 2 months in the hospital. He had daily physical therapy and nurse visits every other day. My brother Skip says that he is healing mentally and is remembering more but still has a lot of pain due to the break in his leg. He has lost over 40 pounds.
With their deep faith in God, Skip believes that Cody will one day be his old self. We all hope so.
We are holding a Golf Scramble Tournament to raise money for his medical expenses. It would be great if you can join us in this golf tournament for Cody’s benefit. You can assemble a team or sign up on your own. It promises to be a fun afternoon with the Scramble, Silent Auction, Raffles and other on course contests topped off with a BBQ dinner at the Wentworth Country Club.
